Hosta 'Gold Standard' 1 Gallon

Hostas are loved for shade gardens, often adding interesting textures and colors to an otherwise predominantly green landscape. 'Gold Standard' plantain lily is a mid-sized variety with chartreuse leaves turning gold in the centers as the season progresses, then fading to almost white towards the fall. Its puckery, heart-shaped leaves are not quite tough enough to withstand slug and snail attacks, so be prepared to put out bait. Hummingbirds love the lavender flowers that appear on stalks over three feet tall in late spring to early summer, and they are fragrant as well. 'Gold Standard' will do well in large container planters or towards the middle of the border, mixing with fuchsias, ferns, and even other hostas of differing textures, colors, and sizes.
