A true native of the tropics, this Camouflage Plant needs higher humidity, a well-lit room, and regular watering to look its best. Some may mistake it for a dieffenbachia, but it is a much shorter, denser plant. Given ideal conditions, it could reach 30 inches in height, though a foot is more common. Rubbing the leaves may release a faint anise scent, but the plant is not edible and pets should not be allowed to chew on the foliage.
