Product Description
We Pacific Northwesterners are fortunate to have a climate that is agreeable to perennials such as this hardy hibiscus 'Luna Red.' Also known as swamp rose mallow, it can tolerate wet soils, so if you've got a soggy problem area that gets lots of sun, 'Luna Red' may be a beautiful option. The two to three foot tall shrub will put out deep red blooms on an almost daily basis from mid-July right up until fall; deadheading the large spent blooms will keep things neat but isn't necessary. This hardy hibiscus will die back when it freezes and is a bit slow to reappear in the spring, but once it gets going, it leafs out rapidly, ready to put on another summer show.
