Hebe 'Great Orme'

Ask a gardener to describe the looks of a hebe and it's possible to get over a dozen different answers. It's a diverse family of evergreen shrubs, ranging in color from red to bright green, with shiny leaves or almost coniferous foliage, and loose to more compact profiles. 'Great Orme' hebe is one of the big boys, growing four to five feet tall and four feet wide with narrow, spear-shaped shiny green leaves. Hardy to 0 degrees, this variety has a looser, more open structure, with four-inch long bright pink flowers that slowly fade to white, adorning the shrub from summer into the fall. Pollinators and hummingbirds love the blooms, and gardeners will enjoy the bicolor floral effect.
