Hebe 'Alicia Amherst'

Hebes are a diverse lot with a vast array of foliage shape, size, and colors, but the majority of the blooming varieties do their thing in late spring to summer. 'Alicia Amherst' is literally a late bloomer, putting out purple flowers in summer and continuing on into the fall. And, when the temps drop, the primarily green foliage takes on bronze to purple shades. This cultivar has broader leaves than other varieties and is a bit more sensitive to cold, so it's a great choice for container living. Leave it out in the sunshine during the warmer weather and move it under the eaves if temps dip down below the teens.
