April and May of 2022 were the wettest months in western Oregon since such information has been tracked, with summer weather appearing literally overnight at the end of June. Such quixotic weather has made gardening this summer challenging to say the least, and many folks have given up. Don't despair, we can help you out, and this summer/fall basket is a perfect way to add color and texture to the garden, right up until freeze. Portulaca, aka moss rose, will drape beautifully over the edges of the basket with bright single-petaled flowers that open with the sun and close at night. Lantana will add rich color in tight clusters of flowers, and the coleus? It speaks for itself!
