Product Description
Many gardeners have experienced the horrors of Geum macrophyllum, an extremely vigorous variety that can overtake garden beds. Fear not, Geum coccineum 'Queen of Orange' is a totally different species and is in fact, a wonderful addition to rock and cottage gardens, along borders, and in hanging baskets or container planters. This variety demands well-draining soil for best blooms, so Portland metro area folks, plan on amending that heavy clay soil! Alternatively, 'Queen of Orange is great at the edges of hanging baskets and container planters, adding color in the spring and summer, and wonderful texture the rest of the year. Purportedly evergreen, this geum may suffer a bit in our Pacific NW winters, but it will definitely bounce back.
