Perennial geraniums add wonderful texture and color to summer gardens in container planters, hanging baskets and along borders. 'Max Frei' is a compact variety with brilliant magenta-purple flowers, blooming from late spring into the summer, on mounds of foliage about a foot tall, and up to two feet wide. The dark green, lobed leaves take on reddish tones as the weather cools before dying back for the winter.
