Gaillardia Spintop® 'Yellow Touch'

Gaillardias are often overlooked as a first choice for the summer garden because frankly, they're like celebrities arriving late to a party and making a grand entrance. Spintop® 'Yellow Touch' has showy burnt-orange flowers with a touch of yellow at the petal tips, but not until after all the summer annuals have been in full flower for weeks. This perennial is well worth the wait, and is one tough cookie - drought-tolerant once established, deer-resistant, sun-loving, and it actually does better in well-draining, less rich soil. 'Yellow Touch' forms compact mounds of flowers about a foot tall and wide, and with deadheading, will keep blooming right up until fall freeze. Use them in container planters, hanging baskets, or up front in sunny garden borders for vibrant pops of color.
