Fuchsia 'Southgate'

Many gardeners enjoy the drama of two-tone fuchsia blossoms with the corolla and sepals in contrasting colors. 'Southgate' is, in a word, pretty, with pale pink sepals covering pink corollas streaked with darker pink veins. The pale colors stand out nicely against the deep green foliage and add a fresh pop of color to summer shade gardens. Partial sun is needed to produce the most blooms, with morning sun and afternoon shade or all-day dappled sun having the best results. 'Southgate' makes a lovely trailer in mixed shade planters but it can certainly hold its own by itself in a hanging basket.
