Many of the indoor plants we so love are from tropical climes, so we need to keep that in mind when placing a specimen in one's home. Give it lots of indirect light or use grow lights, raise the moisture in the air with an electric humidifier or by placing the pot on a pebble-filled saucer with water barely covering the pebbles, and once you find a suitable home for it, try not to move it too much. That, and too drafty a location (near doorways or air vents) could cause leaves to drop. In return, you'll have a graceful, tree-shaped specimen that helps purify the air. One caveat - please keep the leaves out of the mouths of chewing pets, as Ficus plants can cause extreme gastric distress.
