Product Description
Those unfamiliar with Red Martin Spurge (or euphorbias in general) have no idea how delightfully surreal this sub-shrub looks when it begins to bloom in March. Stalks of chartreuse bracts surrounding small red flowers emerge from the tips of the plant's stems, and keep blooming into early summer. The dark, matte green leaves form rosettes on red stems, forming upright mounds 18 to 24 inches tall and two to three feet wide. Cutting flower stalks back to ground level in the fall or winter will help keep the plant tidy and compact. One should wear gloves when doing so, as the sap can irritate the skin.
