Echeveria ‘Samba’

Folks are sometimes surprised that we regard echeverias as houseplants, but as much as these succulents love the sun and can handle low water (once established), they can't handle freezing temps. 'Samba' has wonderful red shades when the sun is bright and the days are warm, but the colors also intensify when the temps cool down, as in early fall in the Pacific NW. Because echeverias are easy care, they may get forgotten outdoors, so consider growing them inside year-round. Water thoroughly when the top inch or so of soil is dry, give them lots of indirect light, and they should be happy campers. Add 'Samba' to a mixed succulent planter for its lovely red shades and orange flowers, or let it grow on its own.
