Echeveria affinis 'Black Knight'

Accurately identifying the different varieties of tender succulents is challenging, but this particular one is quite distinctive, with its upright, almost black leaves. 'Black Knight' stays fairly compact compared to other echeverias and does well in container planters and hanging baskets. Echeverias enjoy our Portland summers outdoors, but they need to be brought indoors once the temps begin to drop in the fall. A grow light will help maintain the dark good looks of 'Black Knight' indoors, as will six hours of daily summer sunshine. Should this succulent choose to bloom, it will send up stems topped by red flowers in the fall.
