The botanical name for this unusual silvery-blue evergreen shrub is a mouthful, so just ask for Hairy Canary Clover when you come to the nursery. Drought-tolerant (once established), deer- and rabbit-resistant, and a great option for coastal gardens, this small shrub grows one to two feet tall and up to three feet wide at maturity. Small white, clover-like flowers appear in the summer and continue into the fall, attracting bees and other pollinators. Hairy Canary Clover adds a unique texture and color to hanging baskets and container planters, as well as borders in rock gardens and xeriscapes. Hardy down to 15 degrees, it may need some protection in extreme cold.
