There are times when we wished a plant could handle our soggy Pacific NW winters and Mezoo Trailing Red is one of them. A vigorous trailer with thick variegated leaves, this South African native thrives in hot sunny locations, producing dime-sized, ruby-red flowers (similar to those of ice plants) from spring into summer. Spectacular enough to claim a planter to itself, it can also be used in mixed baskets as a trailer. It may tolerate indoor living when the temps drop, but give it lots of light, and water deeply but sparingly.
