Dahlias are easily one the most striking, summer-to-fall bloomers you can add to sunny borders, hanging baskets, and container planters, but they do take some effort to keep them growing from year to year. Treat LaBella® 'Maggiore Fun Flame' as an annual, lining garden paths with brilliant color all summer long and well into fall. Hardy down to 10 degrees Fahrenheit, this variety may survive in the ground if mulched heavily in the fall, but wet clay soil may cause the tubers to rot. Consider growing this beauty in container planters that can be moved under cover in the winter after the stems have died back, or dig the tubers and store in a dry, well-ventilated, dark area until they can be replanted in the spring. 'Maggiore Fun Flame' may well be worth the extra effort!
