Commonly known as Sago Palm, King Sago, or Japanese Sago Palm, this plant is actually more closely related to conifers, even though it looks like a palm. Very symmetrical in growth, Sago Palms can take up to 10 years to reach 2-3 feet tall. Give it lots of indirect light indoors. It can be moved outdoors to a location with filtered sun during the summer, but move it back inside when temps drop in the fall. The fronds form a beautiful rosette around a main trunk, but keep the plant away from areas of high foot traffic. The leaves are prickly if you brush against them!
