This Hinoki cypress is named for the crinkly silk crepe fabric used to make kimonos, referring to the varying hues of blue-green foliage and unusual textures.

Product Description

Chirimen' Hinoki Cypress is a truly unique conifer, both in its foliar color and growth habit. The American Conifer Society describes the foliage as "congested," with irregular, bottle-brush like, upright shoots in varying shades of green to grayish blue. Growing only three to five inches per year, 'Chirimen' may reach two feet tall and almost as wide at the ten-year mark. This unusual specimen requires well-draining soil, so it may be best suited to a container planter or even a hanging basket, and deserves to be a focal point.
