Product Description
A California native, ceanothuses are valued for their drought tolerance and year-round presence, with spectacular blue blooms in the spring. 'Concha' handles our Pacific NW weather very nicely as long as it has good drainage or is not overwatered in clay soil. It tolerates our cold winters, although you may see some leaf burn around five or 10 degrees. At the other extreme, an established plant may be able to forego any water during the summer. Give this specimen as much sun as possible for the best blooms. Hummingbirds and pollinators will love you for it, and gardeners will enjoy the mass of blue flowers in the spring. 'Concha' can get up to eight feet tall and will spread anywhere from six to 12 feet wide, so give it room and consider using it as a privacy barrier or informal hedge. 'Concha' works well in xeriscapes, rock gardens, and coastal gardens, providing year-round interest.
