Ornamental peppers spend most of the growing season as humble, quiet greenery, then TADA! Fall happens and out come the colored peppers - in the case of 'Acapulco Multicolor,' bright orange and purple. Their compact, upright form makes them a perfect addition to fall baskets and container planters, providing brilliant color and texture when all the summer annuals have gone. It is possible to grow them indoors as well, given enough light, either through a west or south-facing window or grow lights.
Footnote: while edible, the peppers are rather nondescript in flavor, so they're much better as decorations than food.
