Native to the Pacific NW, Great Camas typically grows in wet/moist soil but needs to dry out during summer dormancy.
Product Description
Product Description
There's always that period between the spring blooming bulbs and summer annuals when the old flowers are petering out and new ones have barely started. Great Camas may help fill the gap with tall stalks of blue flowers in early spring. Green straplike leaves form clumps about a foot tall and wide with the flower stalks reaching two feet in height. Individual flowers lining the stalk open from the bottom up, extending the bloom period. Once the blooms are finished, the foliage will begin to die back as well, and the plant will go into summer dormancy. Do not water Great Camas during this time, and let nature handle it. Given the right conditions, it will naturalize over time, forming new colonies.
