Callunas, aka Scotch heathers, are living proof that foliage is just as exciting in the garden as are flowers. 'Zoe' heather struts its stuff from the moment grassy leaves emerge in the spring in shades of yellow and orange. As the season progresses, 'Zoe' takes on deeper orange and red hues, adding wonderful texture as well. We love using callunas in year-round hanging baskets and container planters, and they're also great in the ground in those drier spots in the yard that get the full summer sun. A light trim in late fall to early spring will help keep 'Zoe' looking its best.
