The calathea family has some truly striking species, and 'White Star' is a fine example. Long narrow, lance-shaped leaves has white stripes that run precisely from the mid-rib to the leaf edges, making it more white than green, and sometimes with a pale pink blush. A member of the maranta family, 'White Star' will fold its leaves up at night, then unfolds during the day. A moderate to well-lit room, consistent water, and higher humidity will keep this calathea looking its best.
