Cabbage 'Osaka IQ PInk'

While fall gardeners gravitate toward pansies, violas, and garden mums for color, ornamental cabbages should not be overlooked! The 'Osaka IQ' series produces compact heads of wavy, colorful leaves, catching the eye with their texture and bold contrasting colors. 'Osaka IQ PInk' has a mostly pink frilly center, often with white variegation, surrounded by blue-green outer leaves, and does look like a large flower. Hardy down to 10 degrees, it will dress up container planters, hanging baskets, and borders throughout the fall.
Ornamental cabbages are technically edible, but the flavor can be bitter and not pleasing to the palate. Unfortunately, that doesn't stop caterpillars, so watch for holes in leaves and treat accordingly.
