Most cruciferous vegetables taste better when grown in the cooler months, but 'Belstar' can handle the heat, producing large, tight-packed heads. Harvest when the main head is six to eight inches across, then watch for the smaller side shoots to develop.
Product Description
Product Description
Broccoli is an excellent choice for gardeners who get the "itch" early in the spring because this veggie develops the best flavor in cooler weather. That said, 'Belstar' is known for its superior heat tolerance, yielding large, tight, heads that stay sweet and flavorful. If our maritime Pacific NW winters continue to be mild, broccoli enthusiasts can plant this in late summer for a fall harvest.
