Product Description
One can readily see why bergenia is commonly known as Elephant's Ears, but the other common name is more fun. Rubbing wet bergenia leaves between your fingers will often yield noises that are allegedly similar to a pig squeaking. 'Bach' bergenia adds wonderful year-round interest to the shadier spots of the garden, with the waxy green leaves turning a coppery red in the fall and winter. Bright pink flowers emerge in the spring and gradually mature to white. This is a great companion plant for container planters and hanging baskets, or along borders in the garden, growing one to two feet tall and 12 to 18 inches wide.
