Armeria maritima 'Splendens'

We can't say enough good things about Sea Thrift, yet many gardeners tend to overlook it. Grassy foliage stays low in a tight mound all year round, with lollipop-shaped flowers appearing in late spring, then continuing into the summer when the spent blooms are deadheaded monthly. 'Splendens' sea thrift forms grassy clumps of green foliage about four to six inches tall, with the deep pink flowers rising above, up to 12 inches high. Sea thrift does well in coastal environments (thus the common name) and does best in full sun. Pollinators like the flowers but deer tend to ignore the plant.
