Angelonia Alonia 'Big Bicolor Purple' 4 Inch

For a slightly different summer look, consider planting Agelonia as the "thriller" in your hanging basket or container planter. 'Big Bicolor Purple' produces upright stems lined with purple and white snapdragon-like flowers all summer long, averaging one to two feet in height and up to a foot wide. This would also look great at the front of sunny borders, mixed in with lower growing annuals such as alyssum or bacopa. And while we know that the dreaded budworm loves petunias, geraniums, and calibrachoas, they may not be as likely to go after Angelonias, another good reason to give this lesser-known summer annual a try.
