Anemone 'Lucky Charm'

It's not unusual for deciduous trees to have different looks with each season, but it's not so common with perennials. 'Lucky Charm' windflower (aka Japanese Anemone) is a bit of a chameleon with spring foliage emerging a dark purple then slowly evolving into deep green leaves topside and violet undersides. Dark stems hold pale pink flowers above the foliage from late summer into early fall, providing a treat to bees and butterflies once all the summer blooms have faded. Anemones do well with sun and shade, but it's probably best to be "partial," as in morning sun, afternoon shade, or all day dappled sun. Lovely in container planters or gracing garden borders, 'Lucky Charm' will add a charming touch as fall approaches.
