Ajuga tenorii 'Princess Nadia'

A sport of Ajuga 'Chocolate Chip,' this variety has the same narrow leaves of its parent, but with festively variegated foliage. Slender cream-and-green leaves emerge with pink overtones that may remain just at the edges as the leaves mature. Blue flower spikes stand above the variegated foliage in spring, then again later in the summer. A slow grower, 'Princess Nadia' is more of a "clumper" than a spreader, though this ground cover can eventually spread up to two feet wide. Ideal for adding spots of color in shade gardens, along borders, or in container planters, 'Princess Nadia' can handle more sun as long as it is shaded during the hottest time of the day and watered regularly.
