The name 'Black Scallop' says it all regarding this bugleweed. Near-black rosettes of scallop-edged leaves form a dense shiny ground cover in shady gardens. Foliage is the darkest and beautiful contrasting deep blue flower spikes grow most prolifically with at least some sun, although it s best to provide shade in the hottest part of the day. This bugleweed grows only three to six inches tall, but can eventually spread up to two feet. Deer tend to ignore it and bees and hummingbirds love it.
