Adromischus maculatus

Adromischus maculatus, aka Calico Hearts or Mottled Pig's Ears, hails from South Africa, and thus, needs deep but infrequent watering and lots of light. Ironically, it can sunburn at the hottest time of the day outdoors, so late afternoon shade may be preferable. This specimen tends to be upright, so consider pairing it with low growers such as echeverias or sedums in hanging baskets or container planters. Calico Hearts can't handle our Pacific NW winters, so it will need to come indoors when the temps drop, or grow it indoors year-round.
