The name Molten Lava is in reference to its botanical epithet, "vulcanicola" and its orange, yellow and burgundy hues.

CloseMolten Lava oxalis is a great addition to both container planters and hanging baskets. More chartreuse in deeper shade, the clover-like foliage will take on orange, yellow, and burgundy hues in morning or filtered sun. Yellow blooms appear throughout the summer. Too tender a perennial for the Pacific NW, 'Molten Lava' oxalis is grown as an annual here, and unlike its cousins, is not invasive.
