CloseOsteospermum, aka African Daisy, is definitely a heat and sun-loving perennial, growing vigorously during our Pacific NW summers, but too tender to survive our winters. 'FlowerPower Spider Purple' osteospermum has unique flower petals, resembling tiny spoons with the "handles" connecting them to a deep purple eye. This variety forms nicely branching, upright mounds, 10" - 14" tall and up to 20" wide, perfect as a centerpiece for a hanging basket or container planter, in garden borders, or mass plantings. Although somewhat drought tolerant once established in the ground, it does require regular watering in containers, and it appreciates regular doses of fertilizer.
