Less well known than petunias and calibrachoas, but one well worth adding to hanging baskets, container planters, and window boxes.

CloseInevitably, when visitors to the nursery first see nemesia, they don't know what it is but they absolutely have to get some. 'Sunsatia Coconut' nemesia has perky, yellow-centered white flowers and spreads nicely into a mound not quite a foot tall. Nemesia is a wonderful companion plant in hanging baskets and container planters, filling out any bare spaces while also showing off its own sunny blooms. Deadheading is not necessary with Sunsatia varieties, but removing the spent blooms will keep things tidy. A light pruning in late summer may stimulate another round of flowers up until frost. Nemesia can tolerate the lower temps of early spring and will keep blooming throughout the summer, but it may prefer some shade during the hottest time of day.
