CloseSienna Sunrise Heavenly Bamboo is in fact, not related to bamboo, and only looks like one, with its pointed leaves and upright cane-like stems. A slow-growing, well-behaved evergreen here in the Pacific NW, Sienna Sunrise puts out intensely red new foliage that eventually morphs to a lush green during the summer. As the temperatures drop, red highlights reappear to brighten the winter landscape. White springtime flowers may form red berries by the fall for added interest. This variety will eventually reach three to four feet in height with a two foot spread, making it an excellent choice for container planters and even hanging baskets. Gardeners looking for an unusual low-growing hedge may find Sienna Sunrise to be a colorful, easy to maintain option.
