CloseFor those gardeners wanting a shorter variety of grass with visual interest, consider using Dwarf Zebra Grass, aka Dwarf Japanese Silver Grass. "Dwarf" is a relative term, and this perennial grass can grow three to four feet tall and two to three feet wide. What makes 'Little Zebra' so intriguing are the horizontal bands of gold that stripe the length of the narrow grass blades. Wonderful as the focal point of container planters, the grass also add movement to the garden space, and works well in borders or along ponds or other water features. Wine colored plumes emerge in late summer and gradually turn to tan/beige for fall interest.
