CloseFor some gardeners, junipers are regarded as a necessary evil - not especially attractive but easy to maintain and seemingly impervious to all types of weather. 'Daub's Frosted' Juniper may change people's opinions, while still retaining all the positives, i.e. evergreen, drought tolerant once established, hardy down to -30 degrees, and low-maintenance. Softer textured new growth appears as golden tips that contrast beautifully against the mature blue-green foliage, creating a ground cover of sorts that reaches 15 inches in height but can eventually spread to 5 feet wide. Consider using this evergreen in year-round planters for fall and winter interest, on retaining walls, or in drier parts of the garden that miss watering. On a much larger scale, 'Daub's Frosted' juniper is an excellent choice for xeriscaping and erosion control on hillsides.
