CloseThis Variegated Japanese Water Iris, aka Japanese Iris Silverband, has an elegant vertical profile with sword-like variegated leaves rising up to two feet tall, and deep purple single flowers reaching up to three feet tall. As the common name suggests, this Japanese iris does well in wet areas, along ponds and streams or boggy areas, and can even be submerged in pots up to six inches deep in standing water during the growing season. Growers suggest moving potted specimens to dryer ground during the fall and winter months. Beautiful in mass plantings, Variegated Japanese Water Iris does best in full sun.
