Between the brightly colored single-petaled impatiens and the sun-hardy New Guinea impatiens, gardeners may think they have all the impatiens they need; however, that's before they see 'Glimmer' double impatiens. These one-inch double blooms are like miniature roses on nicely rounded mounds of greenery about 12 inches tall and wide, and are charming additions to hanging baskets and container planters, or along shady borders. 'Glimmer Deep Red' adds a pop of color to shadier spots in the garden with the intensity of tuberous begonias, but with a more compact form. 'Glimmer' impatiens produces the best blooms with morning sun and afternoon shade, or all day, dappled sun. Regular watering and fertilizing will keep these beauties going strong throughout the growing season.
