The higher the level of indirect light, the more distinct the black margin becomes. Lighter, curving veins add to a unique look.

CloseThis Wax Plant almost looks reptilian with its prominent curving veins and black edged leaves. Higher lighting will intensify the black coloring and fortunately, hoyas prefer well-lit rooms for best growth. Let this unusual plant trail from a hanging basket or climb upwards with support. Given enough light, 'Black Margin' will put out ball-shaped blooms, usually spring into summer. Water hoyas deeply but infrequently, when the top inch or so of soil is dry.
