CloseAsk a gardener to describe the looks of a hebe and it's possible to get over a dozen different answers. It's a diverse family of evergreen shrubs, ranging in colors from red to bright green with shiny leaves or almost coniferous foliage. 'Wiri Blush' hebe is one of the larger varieties, growing three to four feet tall and wide, with elongated, shiny green leaves and unusually, rose-pink flower spikes. Stems are a deep red, adding further interest to this hardy evergreen. Use in hanging baskets when small, then transfer to a larger container planter or directly into the ground as a specimen or even an informal hedge. Bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds love the flower spikes that bloom from spring into summer.
