Velvety red flowers top a mound of lush green, lobed leaves that have that characteristic dark band or "zone," thus the name zonal geranium.
Available in store
Close'Calliope Medium Dark Red' zonal geranium was a 2017 AAS (All-American Selections) winner, noted for its great branching habit and red velvety blooms. This variety is absolutely stunning in mass plantings, borders, or container planters, hanging or otherwise. Deadheading spent blooms will keep new flowers coming right up until frost and is well worth the effort. Sunshine, water, and fertilizer will keep this drought-tolerant annual looking its best. Beware budworms however, as they love geraniums. If the foliage is healthy but the plant stops flowering, look for telltale black droppings/spots on the leaves or tiny green caterpillars. We've got a foliar spray that will have your geraniums blooming again in no time!
