Although named for the unique minty taste, nowadays, Wintergreen is more valued for its festive fall and winter red berries and beautiful green and bronze foliage. A North American native, Wintergreen is a welcome addition to slightly shady spots in the garden, as well as in container planters, hanging baskets, and borders.
