Commonly referred to as a heather or heath, 'Kramer's Rote' Winter Heath (aka Kramer's Red Winter Heath) is a tough, reliable evergreen shrub, often used for ground cover, hillsides, rock gardens, coastal gardens, retaining walls, in short, anywhere growing conditions are often less than ideal. 'Kramer's Rote' is an intriguing blend of green and bronze hued foliage that will reach about 18 inches in height with a one to two foot spread at maturity. Grows best in sunny locations and will provide vivid late winter to early spring color with magenta-red blooms, so plant it where it can be enjoyed, in container planters or in the ground.
