CloseBleeding Hearts have long been a favorite for shade gardens, providing beautiful airy mounds of green foliage and graceful arches of dangling heart-shaped flowers. 'Valentine' is aptly named because its dangling flowers are red with white centers. Blooming for about 4 - 6 weeks in the spring and summer, the lacy looking foliage adds a wonderful texture to the garden, even after the flowers are gone. Regular watering in the summer will keep the foliage looking its best, and may extend its duration into the fall.
