ClosePeople tend to be most familiar with the winter-blooming daphne because of their unmistakable fragrance, but the spring-blooming 'Eternal Fragrance' daphne should not be overlooked. This tidy evergreen shrub is much more compact than the winter-blooming varieties and grows slowly to two to three feet tall and wide. Small, fragrant, blush pink flowers emerge in the spring atop small, dark green leaves, with additional flowers continuing right up until fall. Bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds love 'Eternal Fragrance' as much as humans, so consider growing this beautiful daphne in containers on the patio, along walkways in borders, or as low informal hedges. Although this daphne prefers some shade during the hottest part of the day, it does well in sunny locations or all-day dappled sun.
