This succulent's leaves resemble pine needles and thus its nickname of Miniature Pine Tree, but it definitely is not coniferous!

CloseFor those indoor gardeners with lots of indirect light, please consider a succulent planter, and this Miniature Pine Tree can easily provide the vertical interest. Needle-like leaves form along upright stems that, under the right circumstances, could reach three feet in height. Like conifers, this succulent loses its leaves from the bottom up, so combining it with lower growing houseplants would be ideal. Unlike pine trees, Crassula tetragona roots easily, so if a stem becomes too leggy, simply cut off the top portion, strip off the lower leaves, and pop it back into the planter or into a container with water until roots form. With optimal growing conditions, this succulent may bloom in late spring to early summer.
