This gorgeous pet-friendly Stromanthe 'Triostar' will literally stop visitors to The Garden Corner in their tracks when wandering through the houseplant section. Its vivid colors, elongated leaves, and compact form make it a desirable companion to other house-bound plants or as a stand-alone specimen. 'Triostar' hovers at the top of the list for houseplants needing higher humidity. Crispy brown edges or unsightly brown splotches on the leaves usually signal too dry an environment. Planting it in a container with ferns, palms, or other moisture-tolerant specimens is helpful. Otherwise, daily misting, installing a humidifier or placing the container on a pebble-filled saucer with water added (away from heat vents) will help keep the leaves pristine and healthy.
